Giving back: Kids for Kids

Pivotal Payments is participating in a number of social initiatives and charity projects. We are proud to give back to the communities by supporting amazing organizations that make a real difference in the lives of those in need. We have been a proud sponsor of “Kids for Kids” for many years and will continue supporting this wonderful initiative through donations and by providing payment processing services for the event. The annual “Kids for Kids” Charity Gala 2015 will take place November 27 at the St. James Theatre in Montreal, QC.

“Kids for Kids” has joined forces with Sarah's Fund of the Cedars Cancer Foundation to raise much needed funds for pediatric oncology at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Sarah's Fund of the Cedars Cancer Institute was formed in support of the efforts of the professionals who make a positive difference in the lives of hundreds of children and their families every year and to address the pressing needs of the in-patient Hematology/Oncology division at the Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH). Since its inception in 2001, Sarah's Fund has raised $8.5 million in donations, pledges and special events.

This fund has directly supported the Hematology/Oncology Division, with positive results that include:

• Renovation and funding of “Sarah’s Floor”, the hematology/oncology in-patient unit at the MCH
• Development and support of art therapy
• Providing humanitarian resources through the Sarah’s Fund for Families
• Participation in the acquisition of the first Intra-Operative MRI in Quebec at the MCH, an invaluable tool in the care and treatment of children with brain tumors
• Funding for Dr. Clown therapy

Pivotal Payments is committed to giving back to the communities where we live and work. Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in Canada, and is responsible for 30% of all deaths. Approximately 10,000 Canadian children live with cancer today. Because of significant advances in therapy, 78% of these children will survive 5 years or more, an increase of almost 46% since the early 1960s.

Pivotal Payments strongly believes that investing into research and cancer treatment facilities will help increase the number of cancer survivors for generations to come.
